Woodford Line is a semi-acoustic music duo comprised of husband & wife, Jake & Janette Vohs, often joined by good friends on stage and in the studio.  Both musicians have played actively their entire lives, thus music is what defines them and their journeys in life & marriage.

Jake & Janette have been playing in bands together since 1999, however this is the first band dedicated to their own songwriting. The name Woodford Line refers to the Woodford/Tazewell County Line, which lies in the couple's home state of Illinois. On the North side of this line, Janette was raised taking classical piano lessons at a young age and excelled at it. On the South side of the line, Jake grew up playing drums and keyboards while jamming in bands. Even though it was only a ten to fifteen-minute drive between their childhood homes, they never met until college. It was there (both studying piano) that they were set up to meet by teachers for musical reasons, and they have been together ever since, marrying in 2005.

The band, in its current form, is a culmination of the past bands & experiences the two have had, as well as the effort to bring the music home. In the studio, the originals are nostalgia of the radio, music and good times growing up in Illinois; mixed with heartache and intense storytelling. Having been in Nantucket, Massachusetts since 2003, the couple bring a touch of the Midwest to the East Coast.  They often play as a duo live, however all the albums and some live performances have a backing band.

Woodford Line's debut single "It All Seems the Same" launched August 2012. The debut album of the same name released June 10th, 2014. Taking two years to complete, "It All Seems the Same" entered the marketplace on the "Pitch Pipe Records" label, owned by the duo.  The second effort came in the form of a four song E.P that also took two years to complete.  “Me and You” was a single from it that released in 2016, and then the full E.P. “Let it Burn” released in 2017 via the Pitch Pipe label.  After two more years in the studio, in November of 2019, Woodford Line released another E.P called “Into the Night,” which continues the same feeling and writing as the prior Pitch Pipe labeled productions.

Woodford Line plans to release a few new singles in 2020, as they are currently only playing in the studio.  The duo did once perform on a regular basis, taking an indefinite break in 2017.  Though future shows are not ruled out, Woodford Line has nothing in concert on the horizon.  Instead, look for them on Apple Music, Spotify, podcasts and YouTube streams.
